Nicole Ari Parker, an American actress who has appeared in film and on television, as well as in stage productions, is known for portraying Teri Joseph, a flamboyant attorney in the show on Showtime called Soul Food. Contractor, a Mumbai-born Indian living in Nigeria since she was just seven years old. She knew a great deal about world cultures and traveling at such a young stage. She was educated in a boarding-school in London between the ages of 7 and 9 years. Her family later relocated to London to Toronto, Canada. Contractor studied and became a classical dancer in Toronto. She attended the Etobicoke School of the Arts in Toronto, a fine arts institution that focuses on dance and theater. Contractor decided to take acting seriously at age of 16 following almost 10 years dancing. When she graduated from high school she accepted a full grant to attend Toronto's University of Toronto, where she completed a masters degree in the field of theatre, and a double major in psychology and sociology. Contractor with a degree in sociology, having spent a year in university, went on to audition during an open call for Pericles, at the prestigious Stratford Shakespeare Festival, [Ontario Canadain Canada] and was selected for the part. In 2002, Canadian reviewers praised her performance in 92 productions of Pericles. Contractor was given the chance to take part in the conservatory, where only eight males as well as four women can be accepted to take a crash course of 20 weeks on classical theater which she eagerly took. Contractor received a guaranteed spot in the next season of shows and eventually landed the part as Hermia In A Midsummer Night's Dream.
